El Santo Ermitaño (The Holy Hermit)

Some of my earliest memories were of my Grandparents telling stories about The Santo Ermitano (The Holy Hermit), the miracles he performed and the legend he created. I could only find a few excerpts of his life on this continent. It has been over 150 years since he died. I have spent years since my childhood wondering who he was and where he came from. Most of his story as I see it has been a fantasy to me. The facts of his travels here in the US and the way that he died are documented and based in reality.
