Parveen Gupta

The sequel to Parveen Gupta focusses on London as the setting for the heroine's shopping trips and mental excursions into New Age Romanticism with Akaash Rishi's inventive prose that challenges the norms of conventional syntax and grammar to find new ways of looking at feminist issues. Parveen's imagination obsesses about her lack of opportunity for Partnership in a London law firm that experiences a leaving party for a senior member of staff and more class distinctions from Parveen's friendship with Derek. Her East End associates socialise amicably, and Parveen reciprocates with entertainment at her Maida Vale flat.
